Female entrepreneurs are set to be boosted within the business world, after BoostCapital.co.uk has launched a £10 million fund specifically aimed at women trying to set up businesses.
It’s an old-fashioned standard that men are seen as superior to women and despite equality laws, it’s still apparent that women find it more difficult to access financial help for business purposes, than men.
As today is International Women’s Day, Boost Capital has decided to create the fund in their honour to provide an alternative type of funding to bank lending.
David Abbott, managing director of Boost Capital, said: ‘The UK has a thriving community of female entrepreneurs, but many struggle to secure the suitably-priced funding they need to take their business to the next stage.
‘By establishing this fund, we have a great opportunity to make a real difference to the growing number of female entrepreneurs.’
This fund is a promising step for women in the midst of calls for more equality within the workplace, following today’s release of The Chartered Management Institute’s first White Paper on gender issues.Tags: business funding, business startup, entrepreneur, international women's day
